Basic Skills New Administrator Orientation (NAO) OnLine

The New Administrator Orientation is a year long course offered in five one-week modules throughout the year, beginning in fall quarter. This overview of the ABE system in Washington is designed to assist new ABE directors, deans and coordinators as they acclimate themselves throughout the first year in their new position. NAO guides access to resources that help administrators hired since the previous fall quarter in the Washington Adult Basic Education system, and facilitates interactive inquiry into federal, state and local policies, practices and resources. Participants can expect to spend between 4 and 5 hours per week in the five one-week modules, although some choose to spend more time.

Target Audience: ABE administrators who have entered the field of adult basic education administration in the last year or who are new to the Washington adult basic education system.
