Instructor Training Registration

These training dates are not guaranteed but dependent on the results of the upcoming state budget decisions. At this time we're not sure if these trainings will be funded.

This three week online, asynchronous course is designed for instructors who have never used the Canvas learning management system or who are just getting started. By the end of the course, you should have a basic understanding of the main features of Canvas, and be ready to begin using Canvas with your classes - regardless of whether you intend to teach online fully or simply move a portion of your activities and lectures online. Expect this course to take 10-15 hours over the three weeks, for those new to online teaching.

Learning Standards 101 is a three-week online course designed for teachers and program directors with minimal knowledge of the Washington Adult Learning Standards. The course is designed to provide a basic understanding of the standards with a goal that participants will be able to implement Learning Standards in instruction. Participation in the Fall 2012 section of Learning Standards 101 is limited to instructors who will be part of the Listening and Speaking Cadre. During Winter 2013, the section will be open to ABE/ESL instructors and directors.
