What is a browser and what is it used for? A browser is a graphical interface and communication tool that allows the user to view information over the Internet.

There are two major web browsers: Microsoft Internet Explorer and Netscape Navigator. What web browser do you have loaded on your computer? Look at the top of your computer screen and identify the browser you are currently using. Note: The computer you use for your course work may use a different browser.
