Basic File Management
Basic File Management refers to filing your documents electronically so that you can easily find them again. This module presents a logical approach to saving and filing documents.

Tips for Basic File Management

  1. Save your work often in folders labeled by topic to keep documents organized.

  2. When you submit an electronic assignment to an instructor, always save a copy of your work on your own computer.

  3. Save your most important files on a back-up disk as well as on your hard drive so that you can always have backup copies.

  4. Delete old copies of documents or "label" them as an old version by listing the date after the file name.
