Firewalls

Firewalls are devices that control network traffic for security reasons. A firewall doesn't allow all formats of data to come into The Boeing Company computers, for instance. Any of the following could happen:

  1. Your work computer won't display the online course pages correctly.
  2. Some items, graphics and activities will be missing.
  3. You won't be able to take part in a chat line. You cannot download software.

Boeing students will probably have to take their online courses from home, from school or from public library computers.

If you are sitting behind a corporate firewall, you may not be able to take a community college online course. If you are dialing in to Boeing from home, you must remember you are still sitting behind a corporate firewall.

If you are having problems, contact your network administrator to find out how to bypass the firewall.
